Lush joins forces with Home Bakery to transform skincare into a sensory experience inspired by baking.

Lush, the British brand renowned for its focus on fresh cosmetics, handcrafted formulations, and highly sensory in-store experiences, is collaborating with Home Bakery to develop an experience that connects skincare with the world of baking. The concept brings the textures, aromas, and visual references of bakeries to beauty products and spaces, creating an environment where sensory experience takes center stage.

The project aligns with a growing trend in the industry: the pursuit of experiences that engage multiple senses and foster a more immediate connection with the product. Skincare is presented through familiar codes—such as sweetness, warmth, or craftsmanship—that facilitate interaction and transform how personal care is perceived.

This type of collaboration also points to an expansion within the beauty industry. Brands are beginning to engage with other sectors to build richer experiences, where value lies not only in the formulation but also in everything surrounding the moment of use. The product becomes part of a broader narrative.

At the same time, the sensory aspect takes on a more strategic role. Textures, fragrances, and visual aesthetics cease to be secondary elements and become integral to structuring the experience. This allows for the creation of memorable moments that extend beyond the visible results on the skin.

This case presents an opportunity to explore the sensory component within the treatment room. Aromas, textures, and ambiance can directly influence how the treatment is perceived. The experience is also designed based on what is felt, not just what is seen.
